Private Training
Private Training Consultations
Is your dog aggressive to other dogs or people? Are you unable to confidently walk your dog? Do you have a sporadic work schedule and cannot commit to weekly training but are committed to your dog? Have you tried it all and still have a problem with your dog? Do group classes seem a little overwhelming for you and your dog?
Private training may be the ticket if you answered yes to one or more of these questions. Dogue Spot has clients from all over come to them for private training. Many are driving well over 2 hours to seek our help because we have proven success with some of the most difficult or hard to handle dogs.
Private training is most often done on-site at Dogue Spot outside of group class time. There are some situations that require a home visit. Your first private training session will last approximately 2 hours. At least 50% of this session is discussion and the remaining time will be hands on learning with your dog. We’ll often use a demo dog to show you what a well mannered dog should act like. Over the years we’ve found that lecture combined with visual learning and hands on learning are most impressionable and long lasting.
Prior to your private you will be asked to complete a questionnaire that will really help us understand your current training challenges with your dogs and how to best prepare. However, once meeting you and your dog in person our plan may change entirely. We truly customize our private training to each dog and handler that comes to us for help.
To set up a private consultation please download and complete the form below in its entirety and email it back to us at train@doguespot.com. Once we review your form we’ll contact you to set up an appointment. At the time of the appointment setting you will be required to pay the consult fee which is non-refundable. In the event you cancel with less than a 48 hour notice or do not show your appointment will not be re-booked or moved to another time. Once a Dogue Spot trainer holds time for you and your dog that time is not available to any other dog or client on that day and time.

Board and Train
Board and Train Overview
Dogue Spot Inc. is a balanced training facility. This is why we focus on three main components for all training exercises during the board and train. They are as follows:
1. Praise the good! Dogs must know when they are right.
2. Correct the naughty; dogs must know when they are wrong.
3. End the training on a good note for each session. Balance!
To have a balanced dog they need lots of stimulation. This is why we focus on three main stimulations for dogs during the board and train. They are as follows:
1. Physical stimulation – focused walks and hard core play with other dogs and people; 1:1 with people.
2. Mental stimulation – training and rules to follow. This applies during pack play, training or play sessions with trainers.
3. Emotional stimulation – play time with trainer. Play and train; they go hand in hand. Your dog will learn that training equals FUN!
In the board and train program your dog will be dropped off every Monday morning by 8am and picked up every Thursday night by 7pm. After their 4 day stay you and your dog will meet Rachel, our Board and Train manager for a short private training session to review the goal behavior(s) for that week and show off the things your dog has learned. You will be expected to continue on this path of success while your dog is back with you.

What your dog learns to during the board and train:
Manners: Meet and greet people of all ages without jumping, lunging, barking, or whining for attention. Wait at thresholds until given a release command to follow. Control resources – anything a dog wants or needs are a resource.
Obedience: Will include multiple one-on-one training sessions each day to learn (or brush up on) the goal behaviors. The goal behaviors are: Attention & Focus, Loose Leash Walking, Sit with Release, and Go to Your Bed.
Behavior Modification: We do not allow rude behaviors here. During training we will modify your dog’s unwanted behavior(s) such as: barking, jumping, leash aggression, whining, etc.
Physical Conditioning/Socialization: Lack of exercise contributes to several dog behavior/training problems. Dogs are pack animals and NEED social interaction to keep them balanced and happy. Your dog will know how to act properly around other dogs and people. Each dog is different and we are equipped with a treadmill to ensure release to even the highest energy dogs.
