Level 3
Rally
Rally
Rally obedience is another great way to get into a fun sport with your dog. In rally obedience you and your dog work as a team with your dog in “heel” position. Every 10 to 15 feet there is a station with an obedience exercise. You and your dog perform it and briskly move to the next station. You’ll complete sits, downs, turns and a multitude of other fun obedience exercises. The biggest difference between rally and competition obedience is that you can talk to your dog throughout the entire course. It’s a great way to prepare a dog for formal obedience. However some people just stick to rally. Either way it’s a lot of fun. You’ll start with your dog on leash and as you and your dog progress you move to off leash work.
To learn more about rally the best thing to do is visit a rally competition or stop on in and watch our advanced rally dogs in action. They are performing on Thursday evenings at 6:00pm at Dogue Spot.
