Level 4
Therapy
At least 4 times per year we offer therapy dog testing with an TDI evaluator. TDI stands for Therapy Dogs International and they are a group of individuals that just love visiting with their dogs. Once your dog is certified you can join visiting groups.
Many of the TDI tests are similar to the Canine Good Citizen testing. You’ll also be introduced to medical equipment like walkers and wheel chairs and teach your dog to leave food or other items people may drop on the floor. Our Canine Good Citizen training class puts you on the right path to successfully training your dog for therapy work. To learn more give us a call or visit the TDI website at www.tdi-dog.org.

Therapy Dog Continuing Ed Classes
Once passing the TDI test it’s imperative you keep up with rules, regulations and expectations of TDI. Pat will help to guide you along as you and your dog make a difference in people’s lives during visits. Many people appreciate the opportunity to ensure they keep their dog obedience and mannered for upcoming visits. Continuing education classes are the perfect way to stay an A-student. For any of our clients that choose to enroll in the continuing education class we will waive your testing fees.

Chopper, one of Pat’s Rottweilers has made quite an impression during his therapy career and has been inducted in the Minnesota Veterinary Association Animal Hall of Fame for his work as a therapy dog working with children with cancer. He has also received 2 awards from the American Rottweiler Club for his therapy work.
Competition Obedience
Competition Obedience
Competition obedience has been around a long time. The first AKC obedience trial was held in 1936. Class range from Novice (the beginner level) all the way to an OTCH (Obedience Trial Champion). To learn more details about competing in AKC obedience we encourage you to visit their link at http://www.akc.org/events/obedience/what_is_obedience.cfm.
**Exciting News! AKC has opened the doors to mixed breeds to compete in obedience, agility, rally and other competitive trials (except conformation which is the breed ring). So don’t let your love of the pound pups deter your dreams.
